Resolution ending military operations

I started sending out the message (below) to Democratic clubs in the LA area (their email addresses were easily found online). It is only a draft, and can be distributed by anyone. My hope is to get something like this up to the California State Democratic Party in time to make a difference. If you believe this is important, please copy/modify/change this in any way you see fit to get this meessage out. You do not need to use my name - time is of the essence. Cheers, Will

My name is Will Washburn (805.347.9604). I am a registered Democrat, and I campaigned and voted for Barack Obama. Please read this draft resolution for ending our misguided combat operations in Afghanistan - thanks.

Resolution to End Permanent US Military Operations in Afghanistan

Resolved that, because the threat to the United States created by Al Queda in Afghanistan has been eliminated; because there is no military solution to the current problems we are experiencing in Afghanistan; because we are in a quagmire, continuing to waste precious blood and treasure with no end in sight; we therefore acknowledge the following:

We will be better served by withdrawing our combat forces from Afghanistan, while maintaining the capability to fight the enemy where they are known to exist, in a manner more favorable to our military capabilities.
We must have all permanently stationed US combat forces withdrawn from Afghanistan no later than 31 December 2011.
We must begin immediately to create a coalition of nations committed to the peaceful reconstruction of the nation of Afghanistan, a coalition that will meet the needs of the Afghan people after we remove our combat forces.
If we are not successful in getting a commitment by the current administration in Washington DC to achieve the goals stated in items 2 and 3 above by 31 March 2011, then the Democratic Party of California must work diligently to place on the November 2012 ballot, to be voted on by all residents of California, an issue requiring either support or rejection of an unconditional removal of all US combat forces from Afghanistan by 1 July 2013.

Science based facts about 911

A completely fact based effort, not based on a conspiracy theory, has been set forth by Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth (AE911truth.org), headed up by Bay area architect Richard Gage.

I am hoping to contact anyone in the Santa Barbara area who is (or wants to be) involved in getting only the fact based information out to the public regarding the scientific and engineering based details of what happened to the three large building collapses at the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. I am an electrical engineer myself, BSEE and MSEE, having retired from the federal government (DoD).

If you or anyone you know may be interested in discussing this with me, please feel free to forward this message to any such people. There now is a national campaign to get the facts out to the public, and also to members of congress - facts that are not provided to us in the media. Some of this information comes from government sources such as FEMA, USGS and NIST, along with independent laboratories and analysts with extensive experience and professional qualifications. America needs to know what happened on 911 and we can help make this happen. The story is not being told.
